Dave Scothern Chambers Director

Dave Scothern joined 5SAH as our Chambers Director in 2019. He is responsible for providing strategic leadership, business development and the overall management of the set, practice areas and individual members.

The Chambers Director role is client-facing with a focus on client care and developing collaborative relationships.

Dave works very closely with both the 5SAH clerking and marketing teams, leading on internal practice management and external marketing.

With his long-standing background in chambers, most recently as a Business Development Director at Outer Temple Chambers from 2013-2019 and prior to that as Senior Clerk at Dyers Chambers (now Drystone) he has a wealth of experience and contacts within the profession.

Dave is committed to the promotion of diversity and inclusion at 5SAH with a keen interest in social mobility and supporting programs that provide wider access to both the Bar and the supporting professions.

He is a Management Committee member of the Institute of Barristers Clerks’ and a qualified member of the Institute of Leadership & Management.  

In his spare time Dave enjoys all things outdoors, his declining fitness took a brief reprieve for the 2018 ​London marathon.

Gary began his career as a clerk in 1983, when chambers was situated in the Temple before moving to our current premises at 5 St Andrew's Hill. Gary has played a substantial role in helping build the set to what it is today. Gary has a vast knowledge of individual members and the client base at 5SAH, allowing Gary to ensure that the most suitable barrister is instructed in each case.

Kyle Morris CIVIL & FAMILY CLERK

Kyle joined 5SAH in 2014. He supports Dean Farlam with running the civil and family team, assisting with new case enquiries and handling the civil legal aid billing on a day-to-day basis.

He has a Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Law and a BA honours degree in Literature & Film studies from the University of Essex.

Jamie Harvey CRIME, EXTRADITION & REGULATORY CLERK

Jamie is a Crime, Extradition and Regulatory clerk at 5SAH. He joined Chambers in January 2022.

Jamie’s role is busy and diverse and involves diary management with the regulatory, criminal and extradition teams. He has day to day oversight of the court list and diary management. 

Jamie liaises with clients in relation to enquiries and instructions, new solicitor enquiries and potential direct access matters to assist with matching the best barrister for each client’s needs. Jamie also assists with billing on the regulatory and prosecution work. Jamie is a hardworking and diligent member of the clerking team.

Daisy Bullman Crime, Extradition & Regulatory Clerk

Daisy is a valued member of the clerking team. She joined chambers in August 2022.

Daisy works with the criminal, extradition, and regulatory teams. She assists with the diary management of chambers, handling new case enquiries, liaising with parties to fix listings, and monitoring daily court lists. Daisy also assists with billing Prosecution cases under the Graduated Fee Scheme.

Robyn Hodgson Junior Clerk

Robyn joined the clerking team at 5SAH in February 2023. She graduated from the University of Reading in 2021, where she studied English Language & Linguistics.  

Robyn undertakes a wide range of tasks as a junior clerk at 5SAH. Robyn assists with client queries, specifically liaising with family and criminal clients (direct access and/or solicitor clients). Robyn is a team player and hard working member of the clerking team. She assists  with the day to day oversight of the court list and diary management. Robyn also has oversight of billing family legal aid cases.

Robyn assists with marketing tasks, which includes updating the 5SAH website, posting and drafting social media content, and working on marketing events for clients and barristers.

Robyn also works alongside the pupillage committee and helped to organise our current pupillage interviews for this year's recruitment of criminal and family pupils. 

Robyn has successfully completed the Institute of Barrister's Clerks (IBC) Introduction to Business Management Course. 

Prior to joining 5SAH, Robyn worked as a learning support assistant in a Primary School. 

Since 2014, Robyn has worked as a Swimming Instructor, alongside her studies and her work.

Loren Staples Junior Clerk

Theresa Kavanagh SENIOR FEES CLERK

Theresa is the senior fees clerk at 5SAH. Theresa looks after all aspects of billing and fee collection. She regularly assists the chambers director, clerks, accountant and members of chambers at 5SAH in relation to fees and billing information.

Serena Mignott Chambers Finance & Administration Manager

Serena has a wide-reaching role as Chambers Finance and Administration Manager.  She is responsible for our compliance, regulation, policies, pupillage, HR, finance, and facilities. Serena works alongside the Chambers Director, Head of Chambers, Management Committee and Pupillage Committee.  She also sits on our E&D Committee.

Before joining, Serena worked at a leading immigration firm.  Prior to that she worked for global law firm Ashurst LLP, and prior to that a leading top tier commercial set of Chambers.

Serena is a Barrister (non-practising), and an Accredited Civil / Commercial Mediator.  She is also a member of the Legal Practice Management Association and sits on two external Boards as Director.

Tessa Nejranowski Marketing & Business Development Manager

Tessa has worked for 5SAH since July 2015, on a consultant basis in order to provide professional support, business development and marketing services for 5SAH.
 
Tessa works directly with the Chambers Director in relation to marketing and business development opportunities. Tessa's role at 5SAH is varied and rewarding. It is often project-based adhering to tight deadlines and juggling multiple projects and liaising and working with the barristers and teams at 5SAH.
 
Tessa qualified as a barrister in 2005, joining 5SAH as a member from pupillage in 2007 and practised at 5SAH until 2011. Tessa has worked with Regulators and has also practised at Capsticks in their inquests team and within Kingsley Napley’s regulatory team.

Katie Wilson Fees Assistant - Consultant

Katie has many years experience as a fees clerk and has worked in a number of London Chambers since she began her career in 1993.

Having recently moved to the South West for a quieter pace of life, Katie decided to return to a part-time role as a fees consultant, working remotely from her home in Somerset, and joins Chambers to assist Theresa with all aspects of billing and collection of fees.

5 St Andrew’s Hill is a short two minute walk from either Blackfriars Station, (Circle Line, District Line & Thameslink) or St Paul’s Underground Station (Central Line).

By Car

Parking is available three minutes’ walk away, either inside the multi-storey car park on Queen Victoria Street (above Blackfriars Underground Station) or at the meters immediately outside.

St Andrew’s Hill is a no-through road and hard to turn in. It is better to aim throughout office hours for the car park.
