Meet the Bar Pro Bono Award Winners 2021
Ben Keith is profiled in Counsel Magazine (April 2022 Edition) as part of a feature on the winners of the Bar Pro Bono Awards, given every year in recognition of outstanding commitment to pro bono work by barristers or chambers. Ben was jointly named International Pro Bono Barrister of the year for his work in the case of Ryan Cornelius, a British national who has been arbitrarily detained by the UAE since 2008.
‘We have seen an enormous increase in the last few years in the numbers of individuals who have been subject to some of the worst international criminal law and human rights violations, stranded without any real representation or assistance. We know that from time to time individuals, some of whom have found themselves in the most dire of circumstances, won’t have easy access to lawyers.
