The conference will examine 'Mediation in a Changing World', and will explore innovative approaches and strategies for effective conflict resolution in our evolving global landscape. The conference allows practitioners to examine mediation but also the broader reach of finding solutions to conflict across various sectors.
Gemma Lindfield will be on the first panel, looking at 'The role of emotional intelligence in modern mediation practice'. The panel will be exploring how emotional intelligence plays a role in conflict resolution with a focus on mediation. With this lens in mind, Gemma will also discuss how changes to the rules on mediation and non-court dispute resolution as a pre-cursor to an application in the Family Court works in practice and how to best approach as a practitioner, in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Gemma brings her unique perspective to the discussions, as a barrister and arbitrator in the English Courts, alongside her depth of knowledge in International work, and, specifically her work with Rwanda and the ICTR.
Gemma is an experienced family law barrister and is regularly instructed in all aspects of family law. Gemma is a qualified arbitrator (children). She is an experienced extradition barrister and has been involved in some of the most complex and high-profile cases. She frequently appears in the High Court on matters of complexity. She is ranked in Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500 for extradition. Gemma also appears in judicial review and public law matters and she has a particular interest in Human Rights and international cases.
