A burglar who fled from the police caused widespread commuter disruption when he took refuge up a tree above a live railway line for 17 hours. Carlton Andre’s actions affected 783 trains and caused losses of almost £500,000. He was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment at the Crown Court at Woolwich.
