Andrew Evans, leading John Warrington, prosecuted the case of Mahendrasing and Saraspedy Caussyram, directors of Surrey-based care and nursing agency CareFirst 24. The company engaged numerous overseas nationals to work in breach of the conditions of their visas. Some workers also continued to work for the company after their visas had expired. The defendants were convicted this week following an eight week trial at the Crown Court at Croydon. They will be sentenced in April 2016. Andrew and John were instructed as prosecuting barristers by the Special Casework Unit of the Crown Prosecution Service. A link to a BBC press report appears below:
