On Friday 30 September 2016, Senior District Judge Arbuthnot discharged the Moldovan extradition case of Modeveanu on the basis that prison conditions in Moldova were such that they breach Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Barrister Ben Keith, represented Mr Moldeveanu in the extradition case, instructed by Christopher Stevens at Sonn Macmillan Walker Solicitors. Ben Keith had previously represented the defendant in the leading Moldovan extradition case, Mr Antonov, who had also been discharged from his extradition proceedings in 2012 on the basis of a real risk of torture and a breach of Article 3 ECHR.
