John Oliver recently successfully appealed a Youth Court conviction for three offences of causing/inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity. The appellant, complainant and a further prosecution witness were children. A range of special measures were employed during the trial, including ABE interviews and cross-examination on the basis of questions approved during a Ground Rules Hearing.
