Kevin Dent and Eleanor Scott-Davis, instructed by the CPS London Complex Casework Unit, successfully prosecuted former Westminster Council council pension fund manager Ian Woodall for £1M fraud of pension fund following a trial at Southwark Crown Court.
On 15 October 2018, Mr Woodall was found guilty of two counts of Fraud by Abuse of Position and Transferring the Proceeds of Crime.
On Friday 25 January 2019, Mr Woodall was sentenced to seven years in prison by Judge Stephen Robbins.
The Judge made the following remarks when sentencing him:
“The time has come when you must be sentenced for this appalling conduct”.
“You occupied a position of trust, and this was persistent abuse of that trust.”
