Claire Cooper recently secured the acquittal of her client who was accused of assaulting her boyfriend on a train. The jury returned a not guilty verdict today after only 30 minutes of deliberation. The case was heard at the Old Bailey.
The Prosecution sought to paint Claire's client as a manipulative liar who had fabricated her account of being in fear when her then-boyfriend violently assaulted her on a train travelling to London last year.
The jury quickly concluded that Claire’s client had no choice but to throw a bottle in order to defend herself from her abusive and controlling partner.
The case was reported in the Daily Mail and the full article can be viewed here.
Claire was privately instructed by McMillan Williams Solicitors.
