Vivian Walters recently prosecuted Rik Newton at Maidstone Crown Court who ultimately pleaded guilty to an offence of controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate relationship.
Mr Newton was responsible for a prolonged and sustained period of abuse, including violent assaults and controlling his partner's finances between December 2015 and October 2018. He was sentenced to four years' in prison.
