The Senior President of the Tribunals' has appointed Ben Keith as a Deputy Judge of the Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) with immediate effect. He will continue his busy practice alongside his judicial role. We wish Ben many congratulations on his appointment.
This appointment follows the recent success of Mark Cotter QC and Francesca Levett, who were appointed as Recorders sitting in the Crown Court and Ini Udom and John Warrington who have both been appointed as part-time fee-paid Judges of the First-tier Tribunal in the Social Entitlement Chamber. John McNamara was also recently appointed as the Assistant Secretary for the Criminal Bar Association (CBA).
Ben Keith is a leading specialist in Extradition and International Crime. As well as dealing with Immigration, Serious Fraud, and Public law. He has extensive experience of appellate proceedings before the Administrative and Divisional Courts, Criminal and Civil Court of Appeal as well as applications and appeals to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and United Nations. He is ranked in Chambers and Partners as a band 1 leader in the field of Extradition at the London Bar and in the Legal 500 as a band 1 leading individual in international crime and extradition.
