Jose was instructed to represent a young adult alleged to have committed various offences of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply. At trial, Jose made a submission of no case to answer on the basis that the defendant had been assessed as a victim of modern slavery by the Home Office. Jose persuaded the trial judge to withdraw the case from the jury, successfully arguing that the Crown's case was inconsistent with the Home Office decision.
Jose was instructed by Sabrina Felix at Duncan Lewis.
