Jose Olivares-Chandler was instructed to defend in a 3-week trial involving allegations of false imprisonment, serious assault, coercive and controlling behaviour and stalking with a fear of violence, all in the context of a relationship.
Notwithstanding that the defendant had confessed to some of the allegations during an audio recording with the complainant, the defendant was acquitted on all 4 counts and only found guilty of a lesser summary-only offence to which he admitted his guilt in evidence. He was released upon acquittal.
