Barnaby Hone successfully completed a prosecution for the Environment Agency against Shane Boutwell on Friday, 5 August 2022. He prosecuted Mr Boutwell for dumping over 750 Tonnes of untreated waste on two sites. Mr Boutwell had operated two professional, illegal, waste disposal sites.
“He operated at a commercial advantage, importing and burning waste on a significant scale, undermining legitimate business with little or no regard for the environment or residents."

Mr Boutwell was sentenced to 14 months immediate imprisonment. He is also subject to Confiscation Proceedings. Click here to read the itv press coverage of the case.
