David Williams, instructed by Moorique Newman at Lawrence and Co., successfully represented one of two young people accused of an attempted murder at the Central Criminal Court.
The incident was captured almost entirely on CCTV in a busy London high street and involved multiple stab wounds. Presence was not disputed. Through significant negotiation and legal argument, no evidence as to the background of gang membership or relevant previous convictions for possession of knives was before the jury.
David’s client was convicted on a joint enterprise basis of a lesser alternative offence of inflicting GBH and will be sentenced in due course.
