On 24 March 2022, Deputy Senior District Judge Ikram discharged the extradition case of Government of Armenia v AB.
The judge found there was a real risk of a breach of the Requested Person’s Human Rights. The judge found that there would be a real risk of a breach of Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights (“ECHR”) in relation to prison conditions, Article 6 ECHR in relation to fair trial.The judge was concerned about mistreatment on the basis of discrimination because of his LGBT identity.
